Our straight forward process starts with a free, no obligation property assessment and consultation. One of our experienced designers will visit you at your home and discuss your requirements with you. This enables us to get a clear understanding of what you need and it’s a chance for you to see what is possible. We’ll chat through;

When you’ve decided that you’d like to go ahead with your project, we’ll move onto finalising the design and planning details.
Finalising the Design.
We’ll discuss any alterations to the plans that you may like to make following the Feasibility Study.
Managing the Planning.
We’ll look after all the negotiations and paperwork involved with applying for planning.
Technical Drawings for the Build.
We’ll then prepare the detailed technical drawings which will be needed for the construction and build. These drawings are submitted to the local planning authority for approval.
Schedule of Works.
At this stage, we also provide you with a detailed Schedule of Works, setting out all the information needed in conjunction with the drawings. This enables us to provide you with a fixed price for the Build stage.
This also includes creating a fully worked through budget to ensure that your project delivers within your agreed spend. We have bespoke software to enable us to plan for all costs.
Once you have received all your approvals, you are then ready to proceed to Stage 4, The Build Process.
If you’ve decided that a Feasibility Study is for you, we’ll then carry out a survey of your property. We’ll then put together a comprehensive report, which details the best design solution for your needs and contains everything you need including;
Easy to read scaled plans
Photo-realistic before and after impressions of your home
How long the project will take
What building materials will be used
- A breakdown of costs for your project
With all the facts to hand and a clear view of what you can achieve and how much it will cost, you’ll be in a much better position to make an informed decision and be able to move onto the Full Design and Planning Stage.
The Fourth and Final Stage of our service is to complete the building work itself using Home Extension Team approved local builders.
It begins with the tender, when we send your construction drawings to three of our approved building contractors, and invite them to tender a quotation for the work. Each builder will visit your home for an on-site assessment of the project, giving you the opportunity to meet and make a more informed decision when you decide which contractor to use.
We’ll prepare a building contract for you after you have chosen your contractor and a building programme so you know what to expect and when. Your project manager will be your point of contact throughout construction giving you regular updates about how the project is progressing.
