Adaptation - Campton

After John suffered his stroke, he and his wife needed to re-plan their Bedfordshire home to meet their new day to day needs. They needed a new ground floor bedroom and a level entry shower room with lots of space and light.  When a friend recommended HET had a team who specialise in adapting homes for people with mobility challenges, the couple wasted no time in contacting us.

Our designer Alan Paine is experienced in designing and planning spaces specifically for people with special needs.  The vaulted ceiling and Velux windows with French doors opening out into their lovely garden create a light and airy space.  It was important to ensure the extension could be kept at a constant temperature, so ‘A’ grade windows were fitted along with underfloor heating to ensure the room is cosy and warm whatever the weather.

The internal alterations to accommodate the shower room means that John has everything he needs to make his life easier and more comfortable. A light glazed corridor provides a bright and airy return to the living accommodation. Pat and John are delighted with the result.
