Since the relaxation of lockdown rules allowing people to buy and sell their homes again, Rightmove have reported a huge increase in site traffic. On Wednesday 27th May, Rightmove saw their busiest day ever, surpassing six million visits for the first time, which is up 18% on the same Wednesday in May last year.
The opening up of the market has seen a huge build up of pent up demand for homes, for people who were planning to move. But Rightmove have also reported a large number of people wishing to move after being confined to their homes during lockdown. Over a quarter of people searching on the site, (28%) were not planning a move before lockdown are now entering the market.
